Going camping – freedom in the wild nature

I do have a friend who likes a lot to spend his weekends camping in the wild. From time to time i manage to steal a couple of hours together with him and in that time the only subject discussed is nature, wild wild nature, with mountains without roads and hotels, where one can found just some crazy Mountaineers enjoying their freedom.

I always loved mountains, with their beauty and grace, peaks covered in clouds, replenishing one’s inner silence and peace. Occasionally i go camping trying to explore new mountains, so i can say i am pretty interested in how should i get prepared for the gorgeous meet with the mountain.

And so, when i catch my friend we discuss a lot about camping equipment. After a few talks like those i was able to write down a list with the necessary camping gear, and it looks like this: clothes , boots , tent and accessories , other.

One of the largest collections of high-quality camping equipment on the Internet can be found at Camping Gear Outlet.

Clothes

Clothes are essential for surviving on mountain. A bad choice of clothing will degenerate into a very bad day on heights, sometimes even in medical problems.

Clothes should be chosen accordingly to the season and with the specific weather on the mountain we hike. They should be warm and light in same time, so it won’t be too heavy in the backpack. This should be a good starting list of items: 1 set of thermal underwear (it feels soooo warm wearing that in a cold morning or a rainy evening), some pairs of socks (thermal, special for hiking if possible), T-shirts, a pair of shorts (or 2), a pair of hiking pants, a warm vest, 1 or 2 long sleeves shirts, 1 waterproof jacket (with hood) & pants, 1 pair of light weight gloves (even if is not winter… you never know when you need them), sunglasses/mountaineering glasses, a hat (wool if possible).
This list will support more items if is winter (or less if is summer and the weather is warm). But is a good start for filling the backpack. A pair of hiking boots or gaiters is advisable. Sneakers and shoes are not for mountain. Nor heels. Except the events where you drive all over to that 5 star hotel :D . There are a lot of special designed hiking boots, all you need is to search a little for them and compare their features.

Camping tents

A good tent keeps you safe and dry for the night, offering a little bit of comfort. You can choose the tent from a variety of models: dome tents, cabin / family tents, truck tents and more. Also, you will always use some accesories like special blankets, sleeping bags, floor savers, para cords and camping tarps.

Into the “other” category i place the water bottles (or camel bags), flashlight and head lamp (with spare batteries & bulb), walking poles, a knife, toilet paper and other personal hygiene items (damn i hate when i don’t have that special intervention paper :D ). Some items that you might want to carry would a personal medical supplies like aspirin, antibiotics, bandages, a towel (please, don’t bring a bathrobe) etc.

Ohh, almost forgot! Camping stoves. A camping stove gives campers the luxury of being able to cook delicious meals. The camping stove collection can ranges from compact, lightweight models, which are perfect for long distance hikes, to larger propane grills with a lot of features.

Did I told you that you can buy those online too?
